The problem of intense water pollution by nitrogen and phosphorus compounds is very significant in the 21st century. The pollution is caused by the widespread application of traditional fertilizers in the cultivation of agricultural crops. Nowadays, the research is carried out and the compositions of fertilizers similar in structure with glassy phosphate materials are developed. Inorganic materials, such as carbon fibers, graphite [1], porous glass, silica gel, are widely used for soil, wastewater and air purification, in medicine and biocatalysis. The authors of the article conducted and presented an analysis of the possibility of applying these fertilizers in water protection zones. Physical and chemical studies on the properties of phosphate glass allowed to develop special compositions for use as inorganic phosphate fertilizers with certain dissolution rate in areas with a large number of waterbodies. This will prevent the leaching of nutrients from the soil and reduce the degree of contamination of reservoirs by nitrogen and phosphorus. Research of acid-base characteristics of soil before and after application of this type of fertilizers was carried out. The influence of fertilizers on the growth of different crops was studied
